I’m watching Animal Planet’s Big Cat Challenge. I’m not normally inclined to watch educational programming. I’m more inclined to watch America’s Next Overrated Anorexic or Three Bottle Blondes and an Old Dude. But sometimes, I cannot resist the cuteness that is a baby lion. Not to mention, I generally need to kill time while logged in to my online Financial Planning class chat (online MBA FTW!). It turns out, these programs full of learnings can be quite enlightening. For instance, and I quote the program’s narrator:

MALE LIONS SPEND MOST OF THE DAY THINKING ABOUT MATING

So men and lions have at least one thing in common, since according to Cosmo, men think about sex at least 3841895 times a day. And we all know if it’s in Cosmo, it must be true.

I decide that since I have TV I will put on some foosball. I put on some foosball. The foosball game is one of the 18 X of Michigan or X Michigan teams. I go to the other foosball game. It is another Michigan team.

It might be hard to make out but my old 12″ powerbook is sitting below the 30″ HDTV (yay for open box clearance stuff) and is connected via DVI->HDMI to the TV and via good old RCA to the stereo. The TV will do 1080i but my laptop can only put out a clean signal up to 720p which works pretty darn well for me.

You can’t tell from the photo but web surfing is OK on the TV (enough to grab a video from a site or something). I will hopefully one day have a wireless keyboard/mouse combo and/or a remote but for now USB extension cables FTW.
