And now they have a Doggie Oscar to prove it. The pack of corgis that starred in The Queen won Best Historical Hounds and Best in World at this year’s Fido Film Awards.

I think it’s awesome that the Brits even have a Fido Film Awards and even more awesome that some corgis won it. There’s simply no denying that cuteness of this caliber wins at life.

So, it seems that I’m not the only one who’s been attacked my monkeys.

The deputy mayor of Delhi, India, was recently killed by a band of monkeys. His tragic death is apparently the latest and worst attack by the city’s “plague of monkeys,” which has harried citizens for decades. The solution? According to a BBC article, “One approach has been to train bands of larger, more ferocious langur monkeys to go after the smaller groups of Rhesus macaques.”

Now there’s a novel idea: train monkeys in the way of the ninja to assassinate other monkeys. Brilliant!! /end sarcasm

I don’t see this ending well, but will laugh hysterically when it backfires.

I’m watching Animal Planet’s Big Cat Challenge. I’m not normally inclined to watch educational programming. I’m more inclined to watch America’s Next Overrated Anorexic or Three Bottle Blondes and an Old Dude. But sometimes, I cannot resist the cuteness that is a baby lion. Not to mention, I generally need to kill time while logged in to my online Financial Planning class chat (online MBA FTW!). It turns out, these programs full of learnings can be quite enlightening. For instance, and I quote the program’s narrator:

MALE LIONS SPEND MOST OF THE DAY THINKING ABOUT MATING

So men and lions have at least one thing in common, since according to Cosmo, men think about sex at least 3841895 times a day. And we all know if it’s in Cosmo, it must be true.

A little bird was flying south for the Winter. It was so cold the bird
froze and fell to the ground into a large field. While he was lying
there, a cow came by and dropped some shit on him.

As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow shit, he began to
realize how warm he was. The shit was actually thawing him out! He lay
there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.

A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following
the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow shit, and
promptly dug him out and ate him.

Morals of the story:

(1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.

(2) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend.

(3) And when you’re in deep shit, it’s best to keep your mouth shut!
