We made a few changes to the menu bar layout. There are still too much clutter but it will serve for now. The Amazon ad is also gone. Their service that automatically tailors their ads to your site really sucks.
Things might be a little wonky as our Wordpress install gets upgraded from 2.1.1 to 2.1.2 due to a security issue you can read about here. We shouldn’t be wonky for long though.
Update: It took about 15 minutes to get everything upgraded. Post a comment on here if you see anything acting strange.
Abodes.org is back up after a server reinstall and a shift of platforms. For one thing, now we are running on Ubuntu (ah, Debian, how much I longed for you). Second, as you probably can tell from the default template, we are running on Wordpress. I believe this will make life better for everyone.
A few things about friend blogs (flogs?) have been learned over the years. First, if you can’t view the blog without logging in you will never use it. Second, boobies are a good way to get people to participate. Third, drinking leads to great blog posts (often including the second point).
All old posts are saved and all our old posters have accounts with made up passwords right now (I might be able to recover the passwords if the hash algorithm is the same). Once you can login you can change your posts and make them public now! There will be more information on how to do this in the near future but it is pretty straightforward.
